I’m dying to watch the Shane McConkey documentary, which I learned is available on Netflix. I am about as far from a daredevil as you can get (translation: I’m a huge wimp), but that doesn’t mean I’m not blown away watching those who do crazy, amazing things.
My husband sent me a short TED talk today, which was about living your life fully. It was given by the wife of freeskier and base jumper, Shane McConkey, who died during a jump about a decade ago.
The talk was good. Touching. Inspiring.
But . . . the short piece of footage of McConkey base-jumping, shown during the talk, was truly unbelievable. It was brief (watch the talk here) but sent me off on a YouTube search to watch more of his jumps and acrobatics.
One of the pieces (watch here) was made up of clips from the documentary made about him, called “McConkey.” I have never seen anything like this. This guy was amazing.
I can’t wait to watch the documentary.
