Lucky, Lucky, Lucky (Day 348)

Feeling lucky today.

On my way home from a dinner celebrating a close friend’s 50th birthday party, with another close friend, we talked about how nice it is to have girlfriends who are genuinely good people. And our friends are just that.

We’ve grown up together. Most of us were in our early thirties (that’s almost 20 years ago) when we met.

The birthday girl spoke at dinner of how she met each of us and the role we’ve all played in her life these last couple of decades. How we all are interconnected. Our spouses. Our children. Different combinations of individuals seated at the dinner table.

These are friendships that have changed over time. Friendships that will continue to change in the years to come. Most of us have children in or almost in college. Our lives are changing and with that, the nature of our friendships.

It’s time to let go a little bit more and have some fun together. Some real fun.

Definitely feeling lucky today.
